Where stitched images earn their keep

Two places, mainly. First, hero shots of spaces a single frame undersells: open-plan living areas, long kitchens, wide lot frontage, rooftop views. Second, virtual tours, where 360° panoramas are the raw material for Matterport-style walkthroughs and portal tour viewers, and a badly stitched sphere ruins the whole experience.

The hard part is the geometry

Auto-stitch software handles easy scenes and mangles hard ones: ghosted furniture where frames overlap, curved door frames, a bent horizon. Our editors stitch manually where it counts, aligning control points along architectural lines, blending exposure differences between frames, and correcting the projection so verticals stay vertical across the full width.

Shooting for a clean stitch

Overlap each frame by roughly a third, keep the camera level, and lock exposure if your camera allows it. Handheld sets still work (we fix more alignment sins than we admit), but a level tripod pan makes the result sharper.
